Recharge began with a simple question:
Why should people always have to go to the energy? What if the energy could come to them?
Today, electricity is largely tied to fixed infrastructure. Electric vehicle owners search for charging stations. Businesses depend on permanent electrical connections. Construction sites and events often require temporary power. During emergencies and outages, communities can suddenly find themselves searching for reliable sources of electricity.
At the same time, solar and wind are producing renewable energy that can increasingly be captured and stored.
We believe those two worlds can be connected.
Recharge is building a mobile and distributed renewable-energy platform designed to generate, store, move, and deliver clean energy wherever it is needed.
Our vision can be summarized in four words:

Who We Are
Recharge is operated by Carbon Crest LLC DBA Recharge, founded by Jeffrey Brinton and Joseph Earl Draper.
We are building Recharge around the belief that the future of energy should be cleaner, more flexible, more accessible, and increasingly mobile.
Recharge is not simply an EV charging company.
It is not simply a battery company.
And it is not simply another renewable-energy company.
Recharge is being built as a renewable-energy delivery platform.
Our goal is to connect renewable generation, battery storage, mobile distribution, and the people and organizations that need electricity.
EV charging is where we intend to begin.
It is not where we intend to stop.
The Problem We See
The transition toward renewable energy and electric transportation is creating tremendous opportunity, but it is also exposing gaps in the way energy reaches people.
An EV driver can have a perfectly functional vehicle and still become stranded because the energy they need is somewhere else.
An apartment resident may want to own an EV but have no practical place to charge overnight.
A business may need temporary power without wanting to rely on a traditional fuel-powered generator.
A construction site, event, emergency operation, or remote location may need electricity where permanent infrastructure is unavailable.
And when an outage or disaster occurs, energy availability can quickly become a matter of safety and community resilience.
The common problem is not always a lack of energy.
Sometimes the problem is getting the energy from where it exists to where it is needed.
Recharge is being designed around that challenge.
The Recharge Idea
Instead of thinking only about where another charging station can be built, we started thinking about energy itself.
What if renewable electricity could be generated, stored in high-capacity battery systems, transported, and delivered according to demand?
That idea became the foundation of Recharge.

Store that electricity within advanced battery systems so it can be used when and where it creates the most value.

Where We Begin: Mobile EV Charging
Electric vehicles give Recharge an immediate real-world application for mobile energy delivery.
Millions of drivers are transitioning from gasoline to electricity, but electricity behaves differently from fuel.
If a gasoline-powered vehicle runs low, fuel can already be transported directly to that vehicle.
We believe electricity should become increasingly mobile too.
Recharge plans to begin by developing mobile EV charging services capable of bringing stored energy directly to drivers.
Emergency Roadside Charging
A depleted EV battery should not automatically mean a tow truck.
Recharge envisions service vehicles equipped with mobile battery systems capable of responding to stranded EV drivers and providing enough energy to help them continue their journey or reach an appropriate charging destination.
Scheduled Mobile Charging
Mobile charging does not have to be limited to emergencies.
Imagine going to work, checking into a hotel, attending an event, shopping, or simply being at home and having energy delivered while your vehicle is already parked.

Solving mobile EV charging creates something potentially much more valuable than a roadside charging service.
It begins creating an energy distribution network.
Once renewable electricity can be stored and transported safely and efficiently, the question becomes much bigger:

A major part of our vision is the development of strategically located Recharge Energy Hubs.

Sustainability is not intended to be a marketing feature added to Recharge.
It is part of why Recharge exists.
Our goal is to leave the smallest practical carbon footprint as the company develops.
That means examining more than the electricity inside a battery.
It means continually evaluating how our energy is generated, how equipment is manufactured and used, how vehicles operate, how far energy must travel, how batteries are managed, and how our infrastructure is designed.
We also see an opportunity to reduce dependence on fossil-fuel-powered temporary generation as battery and renewable-energy technologies become capable of serving more applications.
